TR-301 Sealer Glaze is a professional mold preparation product formulated from a unique blend of glazes and sealers in a liquid wax-base emulsion. Designed for use on new or reconditioned fiberglass and composite molds, it helps close micro-porosity and minor surface imperfections while producing a smooth, reflective, high-gloss tooling surface. It can also be used as a final high-gloss polish on gel-coated or painted finished parts.
TR-301 contains a high carnauba wax content and is designed to condition new and repaired tooling before application of TR 100 Series mold release paste wax. The manufacturer states that it improves surface gloss with fewer compound swirl marks and helps facilitate the break-in of new tooling used with wax-based release systems.
For new or reconditioned molds, TR recommends applying two coats with a machine buffer, working in small overlapping sections and applying the coats in opposite directions for uniform coverage. The technical data sheet specifies a variable-speed buffer at approximately 1,500–2,000 RPM with a twisted all-wool pad. After sealing, TR recommends following with its 100 Series paste wax before production.
